Ramble Privacy Policy

Ramble turns a screen recording, and what you say while you make it, into findings a coding agent can act on. This policy explains what we collect, what we do with it, and the choices you have. It covers ramble.sh, and the Ramble apps when they connect to ramble.sh. A copy of Ramble that someone else runs on their own server is theirs, not ours. Ramble is run by Kiruna Labs, Inc. ("we", "us").
The short version
- You record your screen and talk. We turn that into findings.
- Anyone who has the link to a ramble can see all of it, without signing in: the video, the screenshots, the transcript and the findings. Signing in doesn't make a ramble private. Share links the way you'd share any private document.
- We use recordings, and how people use Ramble, to improve Ramble, including training our own models. You can opt out (by email, for now).
- We don't sell your data, we don't use it for advertising, and the companies that help us run Ramble don't train their models on it.
- Hosted rambles are currently deleted after 14 days, and you can delete yours sooner.
What we collect
- Your recordings. The screen video, screenshots taken from it, your voice, and the transcript. If you upload a video instead, that file. Plus what Ramble produces from them (findings and titles) and any notes you add.
- Account details, if you sign in with Google: your name, email address and Google account ID. The phone app also keeps a sign-in token for your account. We use these only to sign you in, show you your rambles and contact you about the service, never to train models or for advertising.
- Usage and technical information, such as IP address, device and browser type, and how you use Ramble. This comes from our own server logs and what Ramble records about each session. We don't use third-party analytics or advertising trackers.
- Cookies and browser storage. Ramble sets only the cookies it needs to work, such as keeping you signed in, and keeps the list of your rambles in your browser's storage.
Record only what you have the right to record. Tell anyone whose voice or information may be captured, and don't record passwords, payment details or other secrets. A screen recording can capture anything on your screen.
How we use it
- To run Ramble: to transcribe what you say, analyse the recording, produce and show you the findings, and keep your rambles available to you and to anyone you share them with.
- To keep Ramble secure and working: to prevent abuse, enforce limits and fix problems.
- To improve Ramble. We look at recordings, transcripts, findings and usage to understand how Ramble is used and where it falls short. People at Kiruna Labs may review selected examples, and we may use them to evaluate and train models developed and controlled by Kiruna Labs. We don't create voiceprints or use your voice to identify you.
- To contact you about the service, if we need to.
Opting out of training: email hello@kiruna.ai. If you're signed in, write from that address and it covers all your rambles; otherwise include the links to the rambles concerned. We'll stop using them to train models and delete any copies we set aside for it. Training that has already happened can't be undone. You can keep using Ramble as before.
If EU or UK data protection law applies to you: Kiruna Labs is the controller. We process your data to provide the service you asked for, for our legitimate interests in keeping Ramble secure and improving it (including training), and where the law requires it. You can object to the legitimate-interests uses at any time, as above.
Who we share it with
- People with a ramble's link. Anyone with the link can view it.
- Service providers who process data for us, only to run Ramble and not to train their own models. Today: Railway hosts Ramble and stores rambles; Deepgram receives your voice to transcribe it; Google receives screenshots and the transcript for analysis through its Gemini API, and your account details when you use Google sign-in. Our providers may change as Ramble changes.
- When the law requires it, or to protect people, our users or Ramble.
- If Kiruna Labs is involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets. This policy continues to apply to your data.
We don't sell your personal information, and we don't share it for advertising.
How long we keep it
On ramble.sh, rambles (the recording, screenshots, transcript, findings and notes) are currently deleted automatically 14 days after they're recorded, and you can delete one from its page at any time. We may keep a copy of some recordings for longer to improve Ramble. Deleting the ramble, or opting out, removes that copy too, although a model already trained on it can't be untrained. We keep account details while your account exists, server logs for a limited time, and aggregated or de-identified information, which no longer identifies you, indefinitely.
Your choices and rights
You can delete your account and the rambles it owns yourself, in the app or on the web, or ask us to by email: here's how. You can also ask us to access, correct, export or delete your data, or to stop using your data to improve Ramble. Email hello@kiruna.ai. We answer within 30 days. Depending on where you live, you may have further rights under local law, including to complain to your data protection authority. We honour those too.
Security
We protect your data with reasonable technical and organisational measures, but no service can be perfectly secure.
Children
Ramble is for adults, not children. You must be at least 18 to use it. If we learn that someone under 18 has used Ramble, we'll delete their data.
Where your data is processed
Ramble runs in the United States, so using it from elsewhere sends your data there, where privacy law may differ from your country's. Our providers may also process data in other countries.
Changes
We'll update this policy as Ramble changes and change the date above. If a change matters, for example a new use of your recordings, we'll say so on ramble.sh or in the app before it takes effect, and where the law requires your consent to a new use, we'll ask for it first.
